Of course, tiramisu can also be prepared using other varieties of white curd (as long as it is fresh and creamy), and the base of the tiramisu can be made either from a sponge cake or with the addition of other types of cookies.

An important part of it is black coffee: it must be strong enough for the dessert to have the right flavor.

  • Add whipped egg whites and spread them with a spatula.
  • Place a layer of biscuits on the bottom of a rectangular dish and soak them with coffee.
  • Cover with a layer of mascarpone cream and sprinkle with half the grated chocolate.

Tips for a delicious tiramisu

Now you can see for yourself how easy it is to prepare tiramisu yourself. Of course, the  hardest part of it is the waiting time for the cake to cool sufficiently.

When you try it for the first time, you will likely notice that it tastes different from the version you usually get at the patisserie. This is because they usually use cream instead of mascarpone cheese.

The recipe above is much healthier, and since it’s homemade, it probably tastes even better.

A good cup of coffee or tea goes great with tiramisu (but not black coffee). The little ones can enjoy the citrus juice or just the water.

In the adult version, tiramisu goes well with semi-dry red wine that brings out all its flavors.
